The base committee authorization of 3.8 billion is a .4 billion increase above the levels provided for in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 (Public Law 114-328).
The authorization provided in title XV totals .6 billion for Overseas Contingency Operations, of which .0 billion is authorized in support of base budget requirements.
The committee supports the Department of Defense in strengthening U. military posture and capabilities in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. However, the committee strives to adhere to the recommendations as issued by the Committee on the Budget as it relates to the jurisdiction of this committee.
